Crighton’s project managed the entire modernisation project for the Hay Private Irrigation District. This included converting all open channels to a fully piped, pressurised system for 112 water delivery outlets, upgrading the existing Hay PID pump station to a fully automated pumping system which can be controlled from remote devices and updating all water meter components in the system from dethridge wheels to pattern approved water meters.
This $10,000,000 project was completed on time and within budget with over 70% of the budgeted funds utilised by local contractors throughout the construction phase. This project also gave greater access and control to it’s members through it’s online water ordering capacity.
By doing this modernisation it minimised the risk of danger to the public associated with open channels and insect and water born diseases. The water savings generated from this project were returned to the environment.
