AFS – Canally Orchards

Canally Orchards Pty Ltd developed new almond plantations in 2019 totalling approximately 1189ha on their Canally and Windomal properties, located 25kms southwest of Balranald on the New South Wales side of the Murray River.

The Canally and Windomal project consisted of a river pump station, 1 x 1100mm GRP rising mainline, 630ml dam, dam pump station and filtration and an internal irrigation system.

As the desired tenderer on this project, Crightons worked harmoniously with local sub‐contractors to successfully lead the project to completion.

The scope of works included:

• Site preparation and civil works; including a retaining wall, driving piers for support and stabilisation.
• Suction pipes and screens.
• Pump station concrete bunker and steel structures; including walkways for accessibility, electrical, control equipment and automation.
• Installation of pumps (free issued) Manifolds, valves and discharge pipe work Vacuum priming system.
• Associated appurtenances.

Crightons undertook procurement for the majority of the project including appropriate approvals and licenses from statutory bodies, with some components supplied by Canally Orchards.

Thanks to the success of this project, Crightons continue to work closely with Canally Orchards to undertake pump maintenance and installation as required.
